Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

What Plant? is a plant identification app. This Policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.

1. Data the App Uses

2. How Identification Works

To generate the result, the photo is securely sent (HTTPS) to our processing service, which uses an artificial intelligence provider (OpenAI) to analyze the image and return the information. Photos are used only to process your identification and are not used for advertising.

3. Storage

Your identification history is stored locally on your iPhone (SwiftData). What Plant? does not require sign-up or login. Uninstalling the app removes the local data.

4. Third-Party Services

We do not use advertising or tracking services.

5. Permissions

You can revoke permissions in Settings > What Plant?.

6. Important Notice

What Plant? identifications and diagnoses are for informational purposes and are AI-generated. Do not rely on the app as the sole reference for consuming plants or for treatments.

7. Children

What Plant? is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children's data.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated periodically. Relevant changes will be communicated through app updates.
