How does PetVax work?
PetVax is a digital vaccination card app for pets. You register your dog or cat, log applied vaccines and dewormings, and the app automatically calculates the schedule for upcoming doses and boosters. Local reminders notify you when each vaccine is about to expire.
Is PetVax free?
Yes, completely free. There are no paid plans, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or ads.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. PetVax works 100% offline. All data is stored locally on your device via Apple's SwiftData. Internet is required only if you use the nearby veterinary clinic search.
Is my data stored on any server?
No. No information is sent to external servers. All data (pet profile, photos, vaccine and deworming history) is saved only on your iPhone. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I register more than one pet?
Yes. Add multiple pets in Settings > My Pets > Add Pet. Switch between them using the pet selector at the top of the app.
How do vaccine reminders work?
When you register a vaccine, PetVax automatically schedules local notifications for 30 days before, 7 days before, on the day, and when overdue. Enable notifications in Settings > PetVax > Notifications on iOS to receive them.
What is the daily care streak?
In the "Today's Care" card you check off daily tasks (water, food, exercise, affection). Each day with everything checked counts toward the streak (consecutive day counter). You can customize which tasks appear and enable a daily reminder via the settings icon on the card.
How is the rabies vaccine calculated?
The rabies vaccine is applied from 3 months of age (single dose) with a mandatory annual booster. PetVax automatically schedules the next booster 12 months after the last application.
What about vaccines like DHPP and FVRCP?
PetVax includes templates for the main dog vaccines (V8/V10 polyvalent, Rabies, Giardia, Kennel Cough, Leishmaniasis) and cat vaccines (FVRCP Triple, FVRCP+Chlamydia Quadruple, Rabies, FeLV). The schedule is calculated automatically based on the species and age provided.
How do I edit or delete a registered vaccine?
In the Calendar tab, tap the desired vaccine to open details and then edit or delete the record.
How do I delete all my data?
In Settings > Reset App you wipe all data (pets, vaccines, history). Alternatively, uninstalling the app removes all information from the device.
Does PetVax replace a veterinary consultation?
No. PetVax is an auxiliary organization tool, not a veterinary service. Always consult a qualified veterinarian before administering, delaying, or skipping any vaccine or dewormer.
Does the digital card replace the physical vaccination card?
Not officially. The digital card generated by PetVax serves as a personal record and can be shared with veterinarians for reference, but the physical card stamped by a professional remains the official document.
