Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
PetVax is committed to protecting your privacy and your pet's. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our digital vaccination card app for pets.
1. Information We Collect
PetVax was designed with privacy as its top priority. The app runs 100% offline and collects only the information strictly necessary for its operation:
- Pet data: Name, species (dog/cat), breed, date of birth, weight, and photo. All this data is stored exclusively on your device via SwiftData.
- Vaccination history: Records of vaccines administered, dates, manufacturer, batch, veterinarian, and upcoming doses. Stored locally on your device.
- Deworming and antiparasitic history: Records of dewormers and antiparasitics administered. Stored locally on your device.
- Pet photos: Saved in iOS secure external storage, linked to the animal's profile.
2. How We Use Your Information
The collected information is used exclusively to:
- Maintain your pet's digital vaccination card
- Automatically calculate the vaccine and booster schedule
- Send local reminders about pending vaccines and dewormings
- Display the pet's protection status
- Unlock achievements (badges) based on care history
- Allow exporting and sharing the vaccination card
3. Data Storage
All your data (pet profile, vaccination history, photos, preferences) is stored exclusively on your device through Apple's native and secure technologies:
- SwiftData: encrypted local iOS database for pet records
- External Storage: protected storage for pet photos
- UserDefaults: app preferences and settings
PetVax has no servers of its own and does not sync data to the cloud. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all your data from the device.
4. Data Sharing
PetVax does not sell, rent, share, or transmit any personal information or your pet's data to third parties. Since the app runs entirely offline, no data leaves your device except when you explicitly choose to:
- Share the digital vaccination card via iOS share sheet
- Export information to a veterinarian or caregiver
5. Third-Party Services
PetVax uses exclusively native Apple frameworks, all running on-device:
- UserNotifications: local reminder scheduling, no external push servers
- PhotosUI: photo library selection
- MapKit: optional search for nearby veterinary clinics (requires location permission)
No analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party APIs are used by the app.
6. Security
We follow iOS ecosystem best practices to protect your information:
- Local storage protected by the iOS sandbox
- Native operating system encryption at rest
- No network data transmission
7. No Personal Data Collection
PetVax does not collect user personal data such as name, email, phone, address, location, or device identifiers. We do not require account creation, login, or registration. The app is fully functional without any user identification.
8. Device Permissions
PetVax requests the following permissions, all optional and used locally:
- Photo Library: to select your pet's photo
- Notifications: to send local vaccination and deworming reminders
- Location (optional): only when you search for nearby veterinary clinics
These permissions can be revoked at any time in Settings > PetVax on iOS.
9. User Rights
The user can, at any time:
- Access and edit all pet records directly in the app
- Delete individual vaccines, dewormings, or photos
- Reset all app data in Settings > Reset App
- Permanently remove all data by uninstalling the app
- Revoke system permissions at any time

11. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in the app or applicable legislation. Significant changes will be communicated through app updates.
12. Veterinary Care Notice
PetVax is an auxiliary tool and does not replace the guidance of a licensed veterinarian. All decisions regarding your pet's vaccination, deworming, and health should be made together with a qualified professional.
